I
Am
What is I?
Point to It.
Is It your body?
If It is your body, how is
it possible for you to have the
thought: "I like/don't like something about this body."
Is It perhaps your mind?
If It is your mind, how could
have the thought: "I have changed my mind."
Can you imagine the rose thinking:
I decided to have blue flowers this year instead of red.
Can you imagine the fir tree
thinking: I am bored with being green all year. I think I will
drop my needles this fall like
the leaf trees do.
Or the dog deciding to get
its tail bobbed to be more in fashion.
What distinguishes these living
creations from You is that only You have an "I".
It is this "I am"
which is greater than either your mind or your body.
It is the"I am" which
allows you to be both objective and subjective at he same time.
Both observer and observed.
It is by this "I am"
that you may know your direct and eternal contact with God, indeed
your ability to become God.
"Be still and know that
I am God"
